Health & Nutrition
Improving community health, strengthening nutrition, preventing disease and connecting vulnerable families with the care, knowledge and support needed to live healthier lives.
LIWEED promotes the health and nutritional well-being of widows, orphans, women, children and other vulnerable people through preventive education, counselling, referrals, testing and access to essential health services. The organization identifies individuals and households facing urgent health challenges and connects them with appropriate treatment, professional support and partner institutions.
LIWEED also conducts community sensitization on disease prevention, maternal and child health, hygiene, nutrition, HIV, tuberculosis, malaria and other public-health concerns. Its nutrition activities include food demonstrations, emergency feeding, food assistance and practical guidance that helps families prepare affordable and nutritious meals. Through partnerships with health institutions, government agencies and development organizations, LIWEED works to reduce preventable illness, malnutrition and health inequalities among underserved communities.
